What happens during the 15 minute consultation?

Our first conversation provides an opportunity for you to get a feel for what it is like to work with me. It is important for you to feel comfortable and confident you can talk to me. I will also know if I have the right skillset to help you. We will set up a brief conversation over the phone to discuss whats brought you to counselling and how counselling might support you. By the end of our conversation, we will have a good sense if we work well together.

How does it work?

Online counselling sessions can give you access to a counsellor from the comfort of your own home. All you need is privacy and a phone and/or access to video chat in a quiet place. Valuable and long-lasting work can still be done even without meeting face to face, and can, in fact, have its advantages.

What are the benefits?

With online counselling there is no need to travel to an office, which saves your time and money. Don't live close to Glasgow? Anyone can access online private appointments no matter where they live or work. Online sessions provides more flexibility in appointments for both client and therapist Appointments can more easily fit in around your life. ​ Online counselling will remove stress such as child care, shift patterns or time off work.

Im nervous about talking, will online therapy help me?

If you are nervous about face to face appointments, or find it difficult to leave your house because of agoraphobia, or suffer from social anxiety, online counselling may offer you a more comfortable alternative to face to face sessions.

Is online therapy as good as face to face appointments?

Online Therapy is just as effective as traditional face to face sessions. In some cases online work can be better, due to it being easier to access, and a disinhibition affect of talking on the phone/ at a distance can help people feel more comfortable talking to someone.
